Mel McNally, CEO spoke of Design Trends at the 2014 Irish Hotels Federation Annual Conference. Mel brought the hoteliers through a fascinating journey through the latest trends and new approaches to hotel design and concept creation during his presentation:
‘Hotel Design, Enhancing Consumer Experience’

“Customers want spa-like bathrooms that are better than home. Waterfall showers, oversized bathtubs and his-and-hers sinks. The blurring of indoor and outdoor settings and a multifunctional foyer is a must-have for hotels. A dramatic change of lighting can transform the atmosphere in the foyer and dining area. Four-stars need to add boutique,” McNally said, and recommended that hoteliers play on the Irish culture to create unique spaces.

Mel crafts an impressive union between arts and crafts and formal architecture and design. His ability to create, re-define venues and enhance consumer experiences is second to none. He pioneered a multi-disciplined practice of architecture, interior architecture, brand creation, trend consultancy and concept creation. He is entrepreneurial in his ambition for international growth of Irish architecture and design.

Mel was one of the first in Ireland to provide a full turnkey service to a very impressive and demanding international client portfolio. Mel is also the founder of the Irish Pub Company which instigated the growth of Irish food and beverage brands worldwide.
In hospitality and leisure Mel’s partnerships and alliances are involved on a global stage with all the great hotel brands.
